Meet Bart2.

  • The Shark Teeth

The Shark Teeth is one of our attachments. Purpose: The Shark Teeth reroutes the sailboat.  The small part of the teeth let it grab under the sailboat, and then the angle piece catches the sailboat to make sure that it gets flipped over to score.

  •  The OP Arm And Kraken Dispenser

Purpose: This is two attachments in one. Our new robot base has the ability to drive two attachments on the front, which we call the “top accessory” and the “bottom accessory” in our code.  The OP (over powered) Arm helps with a lot of missions including the Coral Nursery, Shark Cave, Scuba Diver and the Radar. We realized that many of the missions this year could be accomplished with a simple arm done in the right way.  The Kraken Dispenser drops off the kraken in its designated area. The team discovered that it’s OK to leave a robot part touching the kraken. So, to prevent it from bouncing, they built a cage and the cage dispenses the kraken.

  • Squid Catcher and Whale Mouth

    Created by: Jude and Julianne

Purpose: This one is fun because it relates to our Innovation Project for catching items and being able to remove them. It’s a one-way catcher so anything you drive over gets trapped inside. The robot drives over the krill, coral and kelp sample to bring back to our home area.

  • Eiffel Tower

    Name: Eiffel Tower

    Created by: Caleb and Roman

Purpose: This attachment is used to hang the coral on the hook. This is important because it keeps the coral in its base. We only use this for one high-value mission.
